What Box 12 Helper keeps, and what it does with it. All of it.
About you
Your email address, your business's name, a scrambled form of your password, and what you have paid for. Payments are handled by Stripe, which holds your card details; JTS never sees them.
About your workers
What you put in: each worker's name (or an ID of your own), whether they are exempt from federal overtime, their tipped job codes, and their time, pay and tips. No Social Security numbers and no home addresses: a file that has a column of Social Security numbers is refused and not kept.
It is kept on JTS's server so you can work in it. It is never sold, shared, or used to learn anything.
How long it is kept
A spreadsheet you upload is deleted 30 days after you upload it; the rows read from it stay with the company. A company's rows and results are kept 4 tax years, so you can show what you filed, and then deleted, unless you delete them sooner.
The free calculator
What you type into it is worked out and shown back, and not kept. To stop it being run by a script, it counts how many times it is used from each address in an hour, kept as a scrambled code for a day.
Box 12 Helper emails you a receipt when you pay, and one reminder on January 10 if a company's W-2 numbers are not marked done (Settings turns it off). When you press "Send to my bookkeeper", the files go from box12@jtsapps.com to the address you type, with your own address to reply to.
What JTS does not do
No ads, no trackers, no analytics, and nothing about your business or your workers goes to anybody else.
Taking it with you, or deleting it
Settings has "Export everything", which downloads all of it as spreadsheets. Settings also has "Delete my account", which deletes all of it for good.
One thing to know about the public pages
The pages anybody can open (this one, the front page, signing in) load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so Google sees that your browser asked for them. Every page inside Box 12 Helper loads nothing from anybody but this site.
